Real ROI

How Employee Advocacy generated 175% ROI for Hubbub Labs in just six months

We had the right mix of skills and expertise — all we needed was a long-term strategy to get our Employee Advocacy programme off the ground.

At the start of 2025, only Dan and George were posting consistently on LinkedIn. The rest of Hubbub Labs were dragging their feet about Employee Advocacy – asking ourselves what we would even write.

Hubbub Labs built on team skills and motivation to develop an Employee Advocacy programme.

Key objectives: To raise brand awareness of Hubbub Labs and create real connections on LinkedIn through Employee Advocacy.

Challenge: Some people were open to posting and had something to say, but didn’t know where to start.

Approach: We ran an intro session with the team to explain employee advocacy and how our programme was going to work. A two-hour training workshop followed with the team members who’d expressed an interest. Next came practical, ongoing support; regular meetings, skills workshops, clear frameworks and templates to help Hubbubers turn their expertise into engaging LinkedIn posts. Subsequently, we developed workshops to help team members hone their design, writing and video confidence.

Our team may have felt comfortable producing content for clients but writing under their own name was a different story. For the programme to work, we needed clear and consistent guidance to start posting consistently on social media.

  • The programme worked best when we let Hubbubers find their own rhythm.
  • Some people were prolific posters, while others had a quieter presence.

Our Employee Advocacy programme quickly took on a life of its own. Hubbubers posted on a range of topics that mattered to them, from what’s happening in education marketing and how they approach certain tasks to what’s going on behind the scenes at Hubbub Labs.

Soon, everyone went beyond posts to experiment with different formats. So far, we’ve seen:

  • carousels
  • videos
  • newsletters
  • articles

Employee Advocacy didn’t just give Hubbub Labs a chance to show off our unique culture – it made it even stronger.

Posting on LinkedIn changed how team members showed up for each other internally.

Hubbubers spark discussions off the back of posts, talk more openly with each other and have a stronger sense of shared ownership over the brand.

Hubbub Labs shows no sign of slowing down. Everyone’s posting multiple times a week and more team members have joined the Employee Advocacy programme.

Best of all, the training wheels have come off the bike. Although everyone still looks at the templates for inspiration from time to time, the team now has a good instinct for what’s going to work on LinkedIn.

Our next step is to repeat our success with our clients. We’ve already helped SRT Fairs launch an Employee Advocacy programme and boost their visibility and we’re excited to keep going with other education brands.
